FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards Finals – an update on plans in recognition of the impact of COVID-19

We feel it is vital to recognise past success, in order to help re-build the future and, with this in mind, we are determined to follow through with our plan to complete the 2020 FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards.  We have to balance this with continual due diligence, taking into account the impact of Covid-19 and following government and health guidance.

At this moment, we are proposing to delay the remaining FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards 2020 Finals until the first quarter of 2021.  We hope to bring all the 2020 finalists together in London in May 2021. We hope that this will  not only recognise their business achievements but also provide guidance and tools to help them to take their businesses forward.

We recognise the impact this situation is having on all small businesses and FSB is working hard to support you during these challenging times. This includes delivering hundreds of webinars and online networking events, as well as continuing to campaign on behalf of small businesses and the self-employed to governments. FSB provides a wealth of advice and resources on at www.fsb.org.uk

We will, of course, continue to monitor the situation, and give plenty of advanced notice when final arrangements have been made. If in the meantime, if you would like to speak to us direct about the Awards, please don’t hesitate to email us at fsbevents@fsb.org.uk

FSB Northern Ireland’s Celebrating Small Business Awards have gone from strength to strength, with businesses from right across Northern Ireland lifting prizes in a host of categories. From sole traders and micro businesses, to those with substantial workforces, the Awards have attracted a tremendous number and range of entries and established themselves as a highly valued platform within the small business sector.

Founder and luthier George Lowden began manufacturing Lowden Guitars by hand in Northern Ireland 45 years ago. Learning the trade ‘the hard way’ through self-teaching, George’s focus on craftsmanship, quality and experimentation with new shapes, bracing designs and other innovations has contributed to his rise to one of the highest-regarded guitar makers in the world. Still produced in Lowden’s County Down workshops, each Lowden guitar has a unique voice that develops over time in combination with its player and begins with the provenance of the materials, design and workmanship, carrying on through the music that is made with the player.
